South Lakes was victorious over Washington-Lee, 8-4, in Friday night's Liberty District Tournament action.
In the first inning, South Lakes got their offense started with a triple by Ryan Dooley. Jaime Quinn-Irons later singled on a 1-0 count, scoring Dooley. South Lakes notched six runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by South Lakes was led by Clayton Long, Quinn-Irons, Jack Howard, and Josh Meade, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Braden Huebsch was credited with the victory for South Lakes. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one. Ryan Ertlschweiger and Jack Thompson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Sam Dozier took the loss for Washington-Lee. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs while striking out two.
