SOUTH LAKES HIGH SCHOOL BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD AT NEW BALANCE NATIONALS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
NEW YORK CITY - South Lakes closed out this season’s indoor track and field season with a school record here at the New Balance Indoor Nationals.
Juniors Mary Gregory, Hannah Waller, sophomore Juviannadean Mullings and freshman Jillian Howard ran a 3:48.87 for sixth place in the Championship Division of the 4x400 meter relay at the Armory. The time broke the school record set by last month when SLHS won the event in 3:54.75 at the 6A State Indoor Track and Field Championships last month.
Howard, Gregory and Mullings teamed with junior Rhema Konadu for 11th in the Championship Division of the 4x200 Meter Relay. Waller finished 13th in the Championship Division of the 200 Meter Dash (24.43).
The Lady Seahawks also had competitors in the Emerging Elite Division:
- Gregory was 21st in the 400 meter dash (57.91) and 40th in the 200 meter dash (26.03)
- Howard (200 meters), Konadu (200), Mullings (400) and junior Emily Lannen (800) ran a 4:17.01 for 23rd in the 1600 Sprint Medley Relay.
